According to CNN, accounting jobs are one of the jobs most in demand in 2005. And the need for accountants is not going to disappear any time soon. It may be that the increased government oversight of corporations will help to fuel the demand for accountants, especially accountants with advanced accounting degrees. There is no shortage of accounting programs across the country, so if you have a knack for math and for paying attention to details, accounting might be a good profession for you.

If you want to become an accountant you may want to choose one of the following options:

It is an advantage to take enough accounting classes to become a CPA. There is less competition for accounting jobs that require this certificate, but in most state you will need to complete 150 hours – 30 hours beyond a bachelor's degree ( source ). This means that if you want to become a CPA, it would be best to go ahead and get your master's degree.

Whichever path you choose to becoming an accountant, plan well, set goals, stay focused, and you should have a bright future in front of you.
